Marshall secures contract to support next-gen air defence systems

Marshall has been awarded a contract to support a key Defence industry company partner in delivering its next-generation air defence systems for the UK Ministry of Defence and NATO partners, shielding allied forces from missile and drone threats at sea and on land.

The roughly £18 million contract will be fulfilled by Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites based in Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire. As the business plots further expansion it intends to reconfigure, upgrade and invest in new facilities while introducing the latest production technologies and equipment.

“This new contract recognises the value of our work to support our customers’ products that protect our armed forces the UK Ministry of Defence and those of our NATO allies,” said Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites Managing Director Carl Morse.

“We are proud to deliver have delivered for our customers in the face of an ever-changing threat landscape, enabling them to meet intense supply pressure resulting from the ongoing Ukraine conflict.”

Marshall Slingsby Advanced Composites specialises in the design and production of tailored composite solutions to meet specific customer requirements – often developing bespoke, complex or challenging products and solutions.

Since 2013, the site has seen over £8 million of investment in manufacturing facilities, engineering capabilities, R&D and training to support the growing demand for innovative advanced composite technologies.
